For the Philippine labour movement, the 100th year of the observance of Labour Day was also the year of unemployment.
The first Labour Day celebrations held in the Philippines took place on May 1, 1903. In a mammoth rally in front of Malacañang Palace that day, the Unión Obrera Democrática (Democratic Labourer’s Union) , while pressing for workers’ economic rights.

May 3- World Press Freedom Day.

May 7- Last Day of Testing and Sealing of PCOS machines.

May 9- Mother’s Day

May 10- 1st ever automated national elections in the Philippines (7am-6pm)
